Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Micya AI LLP collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers this website (micyaai.com) and our two products: AI Kids Guru at aikids.guru and Chalk Talk at chalktalk.space.

The short version: we collect only what each product needs to work, we never sell personal data, we run no advertising, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time.

1. Who we are

Micya AI LLP is a limited liability partnership registered in India and is the data fiduciary (data controller) for the personal data described here.

Micya AI is a startup at NIT Hamirpur. Our products are independent and are not endorsed or certified by the institute.

2. This website

micyaai.com has no accounts and sets no cookies, and we do not run analytics or advertising on it. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and reliability, and our typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when it delivers them.

The voice demonstration on our homepage works entirely inside your browser. If you allow microphone access, the sound is analysed on your device to draw the animation. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent to us. The contact form opens your own email app; we receive only the email you choose to send.

3. AI Kids Guru

AI Kids Guru is a story-based course on how AI works, for learners aged 8 and over. Accounts are created and held by a parent, guardian or teacher. We store:

Account details: email address, display name and weekly learning goal, provided by the adult who creates the account.
Learning progress: lessons completed, quiz answers and the written answers a learner gives in exercises, so the course can unlock lesson by lesson and show progress.
Purchase records: what was bought, when, and the payment reference from the payment processor.

There is no open-ended chatbot. A learner answers a fixed question from the lesson and receives one written reply. The account holder can read everything the learner has written.

4. Chalk Talk

Chalk Talk is a voice-first tutoring board for school maths, physics and chemistry. It has no accounts and no sign-in. When you use it:

Your voice: if you use the microphone, the sound is streamed to a speech service (Google's Gemini Live) so the tutor can hear you and answer aloud. We do not record or keep audio.
Your words and the board: what you say or type, what the tutor says, and what is drawn on the board are saved as text only, one record per session, to help us make Chalk Talk better. We do not ask for your name or email address, so please do not put personal details in your questions.
On your device: your recent sessions and basic settings are kept in your browser's storage, and stay there until you clear it.

Because there is no account, we cannot tie a saved session to a named person. If you want one removed, email us the approximate time and what was asked.

5. How we use data

We use personal data only to run the products: to provide lessons and sessions, write feedback and reports, show progress, meter voice minutes, take payment, keep accounts secure, and answer messages. We process it on the basis of your consent, given when you create an account, and to perform the service you asked for. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

6. AI processing

Both products use AI models from third-party providers under commercial terms. In AI Kids Guru, a learner's written answer is sent to Anthropic's Claude to write the feedback. In Chalk Talk, your words are sent to Anthropic's Claude to decide what the tutor says and draws, and your voice is processed by Google's Gemini Live to hear and speak. These providers process content to deliver the service, not to advertise to you, and AI Kids Guru answers are not used to train the model.

Feedback and explanations are for learning and practice only. Nothing in either product is a clinical, psychological, psychometric or medical assessment.

We share personal data only with the providers needed to run the service, each bound by its own terms and privacy policy:

cloud hosting, database, authentication and storage providers;
AI model providers, as described above;
Google, for Chalk Talk's voice and for AI Kids Guru notebooks that open in Google Colab;
YouTube, for embedded AI Kids Guru lesson videos;
Cashfree Payments and Paddle, for payments.

We may also disclose data where Indian law requires it.

8. Payments

Payments in Indian Rupees are processed by Cashfree Payments, and payments in US Dollars by Paddle, which acts as merchant of record for those orders. Your card, UPI or bank details go directly to these processors; we never see or store them. We keep only the record of the purchase.

9. Children and students

Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian set up or approve their use of either product. AI Kids Guru accounts are created by an adult, and we do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children without verifiable parental consent, consistent with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, where it applies, the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not track children's behaviour or show them advertising.

Chalk Talk is used without an account, so a child should use it with a parent's or teacher's knowledge.

10. Keeping and deleting data

We keep your data while your account exists, so your progress, history and reports keep working. Purchase records are kept as long as tax law requires. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days. We may keep anonymised, aggregate statistics that cannot identify you.

11. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data or your child's, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent stops further processing but does not undo processing that already happened. Email betty@micyaai.com from the address on the account and we will act within 30 days.

12. Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit. Data is stored with access controls so that each account can read only its own records, and staff access is limited to what is needed to run and support the service. No online service can promise perfect security, but we design for least access and will notify you and the authorities of a breach as the law requires.

13. Where data is stored

Our service providers may store or process data in data centres outside India. Where they do, it is under their contractual safeguards and only as permitted by Indian law.

14. Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, email account holders. Questions about privacy go to betty@micyaai.com.
